Delhi police dismiss false Jantar Mantar death and detention claims
Delhi police have publicly refuted two separate rumors that spread on social media concerning incidents at Jantar Mantar. The first claim alleged that a 42‑year‑old police officer named Satish suffered a heart attack and died while on duty; police investigations found no evidence of such an event and labeled the story “fake and misleading.”
The second rumor asserted that three youths transporting food to a protest at Jantar Mantar were taken into custody at the Nizamuddin police station. Police clarified that the vehicle was stopped only for routine security checks, the occupants were questioned, and no detention occurred. Both statements emphasized that the police were conducting standard verification procedures and warned the public to rely on official sources for accurate information.
