Delhi Police Launch Investigation into Parliament March Violence

During a protest march organized by the CJP on the Parliament premises, clashes erupted resulting in at least 118 police officers—including senior IPS officials—and about 60 demonstrators being injured. Police reported that more than 70 protesters were taken into custody, and around 15‑20 government vehicles were damaged.

Delhi Police have opened a comprehensive investigation using over 250 video recordings from mobile phones, CCTV, drone footage and body‑worn cameras to identify participants. The probe also focuses on alleged pre‑planned conspiracy channels on WhatsApp and Telegram, with groups such as “Chalo Sansad” and “JNU Sansad Chalo Coordination” cited. Authorities are seeking arrests of those who posted incendiary messages and are examining the criminal records of those involved.

The investigation is proceeding under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, with medical‑legal examinations underway for injured officers and further interrogations of detained protesters.
