Delhi Police trace 18 foreign nationals overstaying in India

The Delhi Police Outer District has intensified its efforts to identify foreign nationals overstaying in India through a verification drive known as Operation VISTA. During the operation, officials traced 18 individuals residing in the district after the expiration of their visas or other travel documents.

The group of apprehended individuals includes nine Thai nationals, four Nigerian nationals, three Bangladeshi nationals, one Ugandan national, and one Guinean national. In one specific instance, police intercepted three Bangladeshi nationals near Peeragarhi Chowk and DDA Park after receiving intelligence that they were attempting to relocate to avoid detection.

Deportation proceedings have been initiated for those found to be staying illegally, in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and other immigration authorities. The operation, led by Inspector Sunder Singh and the Outer District Foreigner Cell, aims to enforce immigration laws and prevent unauthorized stays through intelligence gathering and surveillance.
