Delhi Private School in Vikaspuri Ordered Takeover Over Fire Safety Violations
A surprise inspection by the Delhi Department of Education uncovered severe safety and regulatory breaches at a private school in Vikaspuri. Inspectors found 43 classrooms operating without any fire‑safety clearance, large unauthorised tin‑shed structures, blocked fire‑engine access routes, illegal groundwater extraction, underpaid teachers, unauthorised fee hikes and senior‑secondary classes lacking proper recognition.
Education Minister Ashish Sood directed the department to take the strongest possible action, issuing a show‑cause notice and giving the school's management seven days to respond. Failure to comply will result in the government taking over the school's management to protect students' safety.
