Delhi protest NEET leak Cockroach Janata Party police clash education minister resignation

Thousands of Indian students, organized under the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), staged a "Sansad Chalo" march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after a leak of the NEET‑UG medical entrance paper that affected more than 2 million candidates and was linked to a dozen student suicides.

Police responded with lathi‑charges, tear‑gas and barricades. Official figures put the total number of injured at about 180, including 118 police personnel and 60 protesters; dozens of protesters were arrested, 70 of whom were later released on bail, and six FIRs were filed. High‑security arrangements were maintained in the Lutyens’ Delhi area, with additional police, paramilitary forces and traffic restrictions.

The government held talks with CJP representatives; Union Health Minister JP Nadda said the discussions were "fine," while Prime Minister Narendra Modi pledged strict action against those responsible for the leak. Opposition leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, were detained during the protests but later released.
