Abhijeet Dipke detained in Delhi ahead of CJP Tiranga march

Delhi Police detained Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora on Friday to prevent their participation in the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ march at Connaught Place. The protest was organized to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar following allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which reportedly saw the removal of over 130 million voters.

Authorities implemented Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in the Connaught Place area, and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) ordered the closure of Central Park for October 16 and 17. Security was heavily bolstered, with reports indicating the deployment of over 25,000 police and paramilitary personnel across the capital to maintain order.

In a separate incident, Delhi Police also detained National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) President Vinod Jakhar and several members during a protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station. The NSUI was demanding the registration of an FIR regarding the alleged assault of female activists by police personnel.
