Delhi University announces DUSU election schedule

Delhi University has officially announced the election schedule for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) and the Central Council. Voting is set to take place on September 18, 2026. Students in day classes will vote from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, while evening class students will vote from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

The election timeline includes the following key dates:

• September 10: Deadline for submitting nomination papers by 3:00 pm, followed by scrutiny at 3:15 pm and the publication of nominated candidates at 6:00 pm. • September 11: Deadline for withdrawing nominations by 12:00 noon, with the final candidate list released at 5:00 pm. • September 18: Polling day. • September 19: Counting of votes.

Nomination papers for office-bearers must be submitted to the chief election officer at the North Campus Conference Centre, accompanied by a ₹500 demand draft and required affidavits. The elections will be conducted in compliance with the DUSU Code of Conduct and judicial guidelines, including the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations.
