Delhi University publishes first UG seat allotment list for 2026 admissions
Delhi University (DU) released its first undergraduate (UG) seat allotment list for the 2026 admission cycle on 16 July 2026. The list, posted on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal at around 5 p.m., showed allocations for 93,033 applicants, although the university offers just over 72,000 UG seats across 69 colleges and 73 programmes.
The first‑round allocations included 51,014 female and 42,019 male candidates, plus special allocations for 1,243 single‑girl children and 242 orphan students. Applicants can accept their seats, freeze them, or request an upgrade until 18 July 2026 23:59. After acceptance, colleges will verify documents by 20 July and fee payment must be completed by 21 July. A second seat‑allotment list is scheduled for 25 July, with applicants having until 26 July to accept.
The higher number of allocations reflects DU’s practice of assigning multiple seats to a single student in the first round, allowing them to later freeze one seat and upgrade to another in subsequent rounds.
