Delhi University welcomes freshers in orientation ceremony

Delhi University began its 2026‑27 academic session on July 27 with large‑scale orientation programmes across its North Campus colleges. At Hansraj College, a traditional havan was performed before a formal inauguration in the library auditorium, featuring cultural performances and speeches by Vice‑Principal Prof. Vijay Rani Rajpal and Principal Prof. Rama. The event highlighted the college’s academic offerings, recreational facilities and student societies.

Similar welcome activities took place at Miranda House, SGTB Khalsa College and other DU institutions, where volunteers guided thousands of new students, introduced them to student committees, and offered sweets and flower petals. Freshers expressed excitement about joining university life and exploring extracurricular opportunities such as dance societies and research groups.
