Delhi and NCR forecast for cloudy skies and rain through August 17

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies and intermittent light to moderate rainfall for Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) through August 17. The weather pattern is being driven by an active monsoon trough, which is expected to provide relief from high temperatures and humidity, though high moisture levels may persist.

Forecasted temperatures for the region are expected to range between a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius. While Delhi may experience light rain or drizzle, neighboring areas in the NCR, such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram, could see heavier showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

The recent rainfall has had a positive impact on air quality in several parts of the city, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching the “satisfactory” category in some monitoring stations. However, heavy rain has caused some traffic congestion in areas like Kashmere Gate and Mathura Road.
