Delhi weather sees rising temperatures and monsoon pause

Delhi has experienced above-normal temperatures and a pause in monsoon activity. On Friday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees above the seasonal norm. While some areas like the Ridge received rainfall, other stations such as Safdarjung and Lodhi Road reported no rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts dry weather for the capital through the end of August and into the first days of September. Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies, before easing slightly to approximately 34 degrees Celsius by September 1.

Air quality in the city was recently measured at a moderate level, with an index of 134.
