Deligrad hosts ceremony marking 220 years since Battle of Deligrad

A state ceremony was held in Deligrad near Aleksinac to mark the 220th anniversary of the Battle of Deligrad. The event commemorated the historical struggle for Serbian freedom and survival that took place on September 3, 1806.

Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, representing the President of Serbia, addressed the ceremony, stating that while previous generations fought for the existence of Serbia, the current generation's responsibility is to ensure the nation endures. She emphasized that Deligrad remains a symbol of courage and victory.

The ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Arsenije of Niš, high-ranking state officials, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Serbian Orthodox Church, local governments, and various historical preservation associations.
