Delivery Hero raises EBITDA forecast amid Uber takeover bid
Delivery Hero is undergoing a strategic realignment amid an ongoing takeover offer from Uber Technologies Inc. The company has raised its EBITDA forecast to up to 1 billion euros, supported by strong operational performance. For the second quarter of 2026, the company reported a 11.3 percent increase in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) to 13.2 billion euros and a 17.7 percent rise in revenue to 4.0 billion euros.
Shareholder structures are shifting as the transaction progresses. Major shareholder Prosus has expressed readiness to sell its 17 percent stake to Uber, which already holds an economic interest of over 53 percent through direct holdings and irrevocable commitments. Additionally, Gregory Alexander via Conifer Management recently adjusted his voting interest from 5.07 percent to 4.95 percent.
In leadership changes, Delivery Hero has appointed John Woyton to its supervisory board, effective September 9, 2026. Woyton, an expert in private equity and M&A with experience at firms such as The Carlyle Group and Advent International, succeeds Scott Ferguson. Woyton will serve on the Audit and Strategy Committees through the 2027 annual general meeting.
