Delta Air Lines to resume Seattle‑Tokyo Narita flights in 2027

Delta Air Lines announced that it will launch a daily nonstop service between Seattle (SEA) and Tokyo Narita (NRT) beginning in late March 2027. The route will be operated with an Airbus A330‑900neo and will mark Delta’s return to Narita after a seven‑year hiatus. The first flight is scheduled to depart Seattle at 1:35 PM and arrive in Narita the following day at 4:20 PM, with the return leg leaving Narita at 6:30 PM and landing in Seattle at noon.

The new service adds a second daily Seattle‑Tokyo connection, complementing Delta’s existing Seattle‑Haneda flights and expanding its Pacific network. The move positions Delta against Alaska Airlines, which also serves Tokyo from Seattle, as well as Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways that operate in the Tokyo market. Delta previously shifted its Tokyo operations to Haneda and routed connecting traffic through Seoul after ending its Narita hub in 2020, citing lower‑yield passenger mixes and the lack of a Japanese joint‑venture partner.

By reinstating the Narita link, Delta aims to capture more trans‑Pacific traffic and strengthen its competitive stance in the region.
