President Bola Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary with Near‑Unanimous Support Across Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured overwhelming victories in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held in numerous Nigerian states ahead of the 2027 general election. Results released from states such as Kaduna, Bayelsa, Kogi, Delta, Edo, Kano, Gombe, and Borno show Tinubu receiving between 131,000 and 450,000 votes, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, recorded either a single vote or none at all.

The primaries were described by party officials and state governors as peaceful, orderly and a demonstration of internal party democracy. Governors Uba Sani (Kaduna), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), and Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe) all praised the massive turnout and unity among APC members, noting that the exercises were monitored by INEC officials.

Tinubu himself lauded the process, calling it a vivid display of grassroots participation and internal democracy. The party’s nationwide procedure, covering over 8,800 wards, has been positioned as a key step in consolidating the APC’s position ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
