Delta State Governor Oborevwori Launches Bus Fleet and Donates Vehicles to Boost Transport and Security

Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been praised by the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP) for providing 50 new buses to improve public transportation across the state. The guild said the initiative demonstrates "people‑centred governance" and is expected to increase economic mobility, reduce travel costs and expand daily opportunities for thousands of residents.

In a separate ceremony at Government House in Asaba, Oborevwori handed over five brand‑new operational vehicles – dubbed “Green Marias” – to the Delta State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service. He said the vehicles will "enhance the day‑to‑day activities of officers, improve response capacity, strengthen supervision and coordination, and support the effective discharge of their responsibilities," reinforcing the state’s commitment to peace, security and a more efficient justice system.
