Delta State Police rescue hostage and arrest suspects in multiple crimes

The Delta State Police Command has conducted several operations in response to violent crimes in the state. In the Usiefrun Community of Ughelli South, police rescued a 25-year-old woman who was allegedly assaulted and held hostage. A 29-year-old suspect, Brotugbare Francis Onome, was arrested during the operation, and authorities recovered a fabricated Beretta pistol, a magazine, and live ammunition.

In a separate incident in the Ughelli area, a 16-year-old girl reported being lured to a hotel and sexually assaulted by two teenage boys. The victim alleged that the suspects recorded the assault on mobile phones and used the footage to demand further sexual acts. One suspect, identified as Godstime, has been taken into custody following the circulation of a video on social media.

Additionally, police arrested two suspects, Ezekiel Sunday Izomor and Emmanuel Ogaganefe, in connection with the March 2026 killing of a 25-year-old man at Jesse Main Market. The investigation suggests the killing was linked to a dispute over leadership within the Aro Bagger confraternity.
