Delta State Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Counterfeit‑Dollar and Drug Suspects

Delta State Police announced a series of intelligence‑led operations across the state. In Okpanam, operatives rescued a kidnap victim abducted on June 10 after the suspects fled under pressure; the victim was recovered unharmed and reunited with his family. The command also arrested three young men identified as members of the Aro Bagger Confraternity, seizing a locally fabricated Beretta pistol during a patrol in Asaba, and detained a 45‑year‑old woman during a raid on a suspected drug hub in Kwale.

Separate raids targeted counterfeit‑dollar and drug networks. Officers seized 1,600 fake United States dollar notes and military camouflage from a hideout on Nnebisi Road, Asaba, and arrested four suspects linked to the scheme. Additional operations in Owaliru and Alihame led to the arrest of two women and the confiscation of large quantities of GH Gold, Colorado cannabis and Canadian loud, all believed to be part of a broader drug‑distribution network. Police officials praised the teams for their professionalism and reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling organised crime in Delta State.
