Delta Police: Death toll rises to three in Tsawwassen pedestrian collision

The death toll from a pickup truck collision during a Truth and Reconciliation walk at Tsawwassen Mills has risen to three. The Delta Police Department confirmed that 64-year-old Gwenyth Brigit Dwyn has died following the incident on September 30.

Two Tsawwassen First Nation elders, Barb Joe (also known as wilapiya) and Virginia Splockton, were killed at the scene. A fourth person injured in the crash has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

Investigators are examining the vehicle's movements prior to the collision, including an earlier incident on the property. While police are investigating whether the driver experienced a medical event, they stated there is currently no evidence to suggest the collision was targeted or ideologically motivated. If evidence of criminality is found, potential charges will be forwarded to Crown Counsel for assessment.
