Demokrati party demands audit of Slovak critical infrastructure

The opposition party Demokrati is calling on the Slovak government to conduct an immediate audit of the country’s critical and strategic infrastructure. The party is demanding the convening of the State Security Council to evaluate national preparedness against rising hybrid threats and drone attacks.

Party Vice-Chairman Juraj Šeliga emphasized that the government must identify vulnerabilities and establish clear responsibility for addressing them. The proposed audit should cover essential sectors, including power plants, hospitals, airports, railways, water supplies, communication networks, and strategic enterprises.

Demokrati has requested that the government present the initial audit results and a concrete plan to rectify identified deficiencies within 30 days. Former Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď also highlighted the need to verify whether Slovakia possesses sufficient capacities to eliminate drone threats and ensure proper coordination between the police, military, intelligence services, and infrastructure operators.
