Slovak political opposition challenges government

Overview

Slovak political opposition parties are raising various challenges against government ministries and state management. Progresívne Slovensko has filed a motion with the Public Procurement Office to investigate allegations that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development may have bypassed procurement laws by splitting security service contracts worth over 1.4 million euros into smaller orders.

Additionally, the KDH party is demanding transparency regarding the proposed dissolution of the state-owned enterprise Plemenárske služby Slovenskej republiky. KDH argues the company is profitable and maintains that the ministry has failed to provide economic justifications for closing the business, which manages the national livestock database.
