Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Anime Film Tops Box Office, Launches on Streaming

The Japanese anime feature Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has become the highest‑earning animated movie in history, grossing more than $793 million worldwide. It overtook previous record‑holder Mugen Train and outperformed other classics such as Your Name and Spirited Away. The film’s success was especially pronounced in China, where it earned $52.5 million in its opening weekend, and it also drew large audiences in Japan and Mexico.

After a nine‑month theatrical run that included a delayed release to maximise box‑office earnings and an unsuccessful Oscar nomination campaign, the movie is now available on streaming platforms. The launch follows a strategy by studio Ufotable and distributor Sony Pictures to extend the film’s revenue stream beyond cinemas.

The streaming debut offers fans worldwide the chance to watch the film from home, marking a new phase in the title’s commercial life after its record‑setting cinema performance.
