Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 dominates Oricon charts

The first film in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy, titled "Akaza Returns," has achieved significant commercial success in the home video market. According to Oricon rankings, the film secured a "double crown" by occupying both the first and second positions on both the weekly DVD and Blu-ray charts.

In the DVD rankings, the Regular Edition placed at No. 1 with approximately 78,000 copies sold, while the Limited Edition took the No. 2 spot with 37,000 copies. On the Blu-ray charts, the Limited Edition ranked No. 1 with 89,000 copies, followed by the Regular Edition at No. 2 with 70,000 copies. These combined figures make it the best-selling animated film release of 2026 regarding first-week physical media sales.

The franchise, based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotōge and animated by Ufotable, has seen massive global growth. The Infinity Castle film has contributed to a global accumulation of over $795 million, following a long theatrical run in Japan that spanned 266 days.
