Dengue fever cases reported in Terni and San Vendemiano
Two separate cases of Dengue fever have been reported in Italy involving individuals returning from international travel.
In Terni, a patient presenting with mild symptoms was diagnosed after returning from a trip to Colombia. Local authorities activated a disinfection plan overnight, targeting public areas including via delle Conce, Largo Paolucci, and vocabolo Appecano to prevent potential virus spread.
In San Vendemiano, a woman was hospitalized in Conegliano after contracting the virus following a stay in Cuba. Following the diagnosis on August 31, the Public Hygiene and Health Service (Sisp) and local municipal administration initiated extraordinary mosquito control measures. Disinfection efforts are concentrated within a 200-meter radius of the patient's residence to mitigate the risk of local transmission.
