Dengue outbreaks reported in Bangladesh and Manipur

Dengue fever cases and fatalities are rising in several regions. In Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported four additional deaths in a 24-hour period, bringing the national death toll for the year to 368. Since January 1, a total of 118,502 people have been hospitalized in the country, with 6,023 patients currently receiving treatment. The highest number of recent hospitalizations occurred in the Dhaka Division.

In the Churachandpur district of Manipur, India, health officials reported 3,713 dengue cases and nine deaths between April 1 and October 20. This represents a significant increase compared to the 332 cases recorded in the district during 2025. Local medical officials noted that while the district hospital maintains a recovery rate of 99.67 percent, several fatalities are still awaiting laboratory confirmation via ELISA testing. Health departments in the region have deployed mobile medical teams to monitor infections and prevent further transmission.
