Denizli hosts international football-themed cartoon exhibition

The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality opened the 6th International Cartoon Competition exhibition, themed “Football,” at the Turan Bahadır Exhibition Hall. The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu and municipal officials.

Artists from 41 countries submitted 1,164 works, with 450 cartoonists participating. The exhibition will remain open to the public free of charge until 2 July. Awards were presented, including the first‑place prize to Turkey’s Zeki Ozan Soyman, second and third places to Iranian artists Saeed Sadeghi Naghdali and Sajad Rafeei, and special honors to artists from Italy, Iran, Turkey and Cuba.

Mayor Çavuşoğlu emphasized art’s universal language and the city’s vision of becoming a cultural hub, highlighting the event’s role in promoting artistic freedom and international dialogue.
