Denmark allocates 680 million kroner for new dementia plan
The Danish government has announced an allocation of 680 million kroner over the next four years to support a new dementia plan, as part of the upcoming finance law. Economy and Interior Minister Pia Olsen Dyhr stated the funds aim to improve life for citizens with dementia and their relatives. While the union FOA welcomed the boost for a pressing sector, the Alzheimerforeningen expressed disappointment, arguing that the funding is temporary for a chronic and fatal disease.
In broader labor and social news, Morten Skov Christiansen, chairman of FH, has announced his candidacy for re-election. He emphasized the need to ensure a sustainable working life and better opportunities for youth, including strengthening primary education to prevent social exclusion.
Additionally, the Prison Association has warned that political ambitions regarding sentencing are disconnected from the reality of the prison system, which is already under significant pressure. Meanwhile, regional reports highlight rising ambulance call volumes in North Jutland and various local incidents, including a rescue operation at Farøbroen and traffic disruptions on the E45 motorway.
