Denmark and Morocco to establish new partnership and extradition agreement
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has announced a new strategic partnership with Morocco following meetings in Copenhagen with Moroccan Minister Nasser Bourita.
A key component of the developing agreement is the preparation of an extradition treaty, which is expected to be finalized by December. This treaty aims to simplify the process of repatriating individuals with Moroccan backgrounds who have misused Danish hospitality.
Beyond migration and security, the two nations plan to establish a formal Danish-Moroccan Chamber of Commerce to facilitate easier investment for Danish companies in Morocco. The partnership will also include cooperation on sustainable energy and broader economic ties.
