Morocco bilateral judicial and strategic agreements
Overview
Morocco has entered into new bilateral agreements with Jordan and Denmark focused on judicial cooperation and extradition.
In late August, Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and Jordanian Minister Bassam Samir Talhouni signed a pact in Rabat to enhance legal coordination and establish a framework for the extradition of wanted individuals. The agreement aims to strengthen the fight against crime while upholding the rule of law.
Following this, Denmark and Morocco announced a strategic partnership. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen indicated that an extradition treaty is expected to be finalized by December to facilitate the repatriation of individuals with Moroccan backgrounds. This partnership also encompasses economic cooperation, including the establishment of a Danish-Moroccan Chamber of Commerce and collaboration on sustainable energy.
