Denmark Apartment Sales Reach Record 44.5 bn kroner in H1 2026
In the first six months of 2026 Denmark’s apartment market recorded a total sales value of 44.5 billion kroner, the highest ever reported by the real‑estate data platform Boligsiden. The figure exceeds the nominal level of the previous peak in the first half of 2021, although when adjusted for inflation the 2021 total (equivalent to 49.1 billion kroner in 2026 prices) still remains the top‑most.
The number of apartments sold fell by 19 percent to 10,458 units compared with 12,931 in 2021, but average prices rose sharply. About half of the sales value came from Copenhagen, while Aarhus saw sales of 5 billion kroner – a 26 percent increase year‑on‑year. Boligsiden’s communications director Birgit Daetz said, "Lejlighedspriserne er steget med raketfart… tværtimod er der solgt færre lejligheder," underscoring that the record value is driven by higher prices rather than higher transaction volume.
