Denmark cyber team competes for European championship title

The Danish national cybersecurity team is traveling to Bochum, Germany, to compete in the European Cybersecurity Championship from October 12 to 16. The ten-member team, consisting of talents aged 14 to 25, will compete against participants from 42 different countries.

Following a silver medal win in 2025, the team aims for a top podium finish this year. National coach Jens Myrup Pedersen, a professor at Aarhus University, noted that the team is technically at a high level and possesses strong collaborative skills. Aarhus University Rector Brian Bech Nielsen emphasized that the team demonstrates Denmark's world-class cyber talent, which is essential for strengthening national digital resilience.

Industry experts highlight the growing demand for cybersecurity specialists in the Danish business sector to defend against frequent digital and hybrid attacks. The Industriens Fond supports the national team as part of broader efforts to bolster cybersecurity within Danish commerce.
