Denmark arrests three teens for planned terror attack on Hadsten School
Three teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, were detained by Danish police on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack on Hadsten School in the northern Jutland town of Hadsten. The suspects were charged under Denmark's terrorism law (paragraph 114) after investigations revealed they had coordinated the plot via online platforms Discord and Telegram. Two of the youths were arrested in East Jutland and the third in Copenhagen on the morning of 3 August 2026.
Justice Minister Nicolai Wammen said the authorities acted with the greatest seriousness, praised the police response and confirmed that the school no longer faces an imminent threat. Favrskov Municipality, where the school is located, activated its emergency plan, held information meetings and sent notices to parents and staff through the Aula system. The suspects denied guilt during their court hearing, and police have not disclosed a motive for targeting the school.
