Denmark housing market shows rising apartment supply in Copenhagen

Data from Boligsiden indicates a significant divergence in the Danish housing market as of early September 2026. The supply of owner-occupied apartments in the Capital Region has risen by 8.9 percent over the past month, marking a 24.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

In Copenhagen Municipality specifically, the supply of apartments has surged by 11.7 percent in the last month, resulting in 68.5 percent more listings available than a year ago. This trend is attributed to a slowdown in transaction speed and a continuous influx of new listings.

Conversely, the housing supply is declining in the rest of Denmark. Nationally, there are 6,331 apartments for sale, representing a 2.5 percent increase from the previous month but a 2.2 percent decrease compared to last year.
