Denmark launches free cultural and recreational programs for youth

Various cultural and recreational initiatives are being launched in Denmark to increase engagement among young people.

As part of the nationwide K7 WEEK, running from September 7 to 13, 2026, individuals up to age 27 can access more than 250 museums and exhibition sites for free. This requires a digital K7 card. Vendsyssel Kunstmuseum in Hjørring is participating, offering access to its regional collection and a special exhibition featuring Poul Anker Bech.

In Aalborg, the Aalborg Try Out program is also opening registration. From September through November 2026, young people aged 15 to 25, as well as students of any age, can participate in over 165 free activities. The program, organized by Aalborg Municipality and local educational institutions, includes sports, outdoor adventures, creative workshops, and social clubs to help new residents find community.
