Denmark crime: Mink skin laundering conviction and police searches

A 71-year-old man from Sæby has been sentenced to one year and nine months in prison by the Hjørring Court for laundering 7.7 million DKK. The case involved using drug money to purchase mink skins, which were then sold to China through a Danish-Chinese intermediary. The National Special Crime Unit (NSK) noted that this is part of a larger complex of cases involving approximately 30 million DKK laundered via mink skins, with some related investigations involving sums exceeding 120 million DKK.

In other Danish criminal matters, police are seeking public assistance in several cases. In Nordjylland, authorities are searching for 30-year-old Niels Holm in connection with a 2024 rape in Frederikshavn. In Midt- og Vestsjælland, police have released surveillance footage to identify two men suspected of attempting to break into a SuperBrugsen in Store Heddinge on two separate occasions in May. Additionally, a 26-year-old man from Fredericia has been remanded in custody for four weeks following two robberies at Rema 1000 stores.
