Denmark's house prices break 20,000 kroner per sqm record

June data from Boligsiden’s Market Index show that the average sale price for villas and townhouses in Denmark has risen above 20,000 DKK per square metre for the first time. A standard 140‑square‑metre house now costs around 2.8 million DKK, up from about 2.6 million DKK a year earlier, with a 5.7 % increase in the first half of 2026. Kasper Fredløv Sonberg of Boligsiden said, “At huspriserne nu passerer 20.000 kr. pr. kvm. på landsplan er endnu et tegn på, hvor hurtigt boligmarkedet har udviklet sig de seneste år.” The rise is evident in 79 municipalities, especially around Copenhagen, while 13 municipalities saw price drops. Apartment prices rose nationally by 0.6 % but fell 1.2 % in Aarhus.
