Denzel Washington’s representatives deny fake Trump endorsement

Representatives for actor Denzel Washington have debunked a fabricated endorsement of Donald Trump shared by the former president on Truth Social. The post featured a screenshot from an X account called ‘Red Eagle Updates,’ which contained a quote claiming Washington viewed Trump as a ‘great friend’ and an ‘exceptional president.’

Alan Nierob, president of PMK Entertainment and a representative for Washington, confirmed to the Washington Post that the statement is false. He noted that there is no evidence the actor made such comments and expressed uncertainty regarding the origin of the quote.

Fact-checking investigations had previously identified the endorsement as baseless. Similar fabricated quotes have circulated online in the past, being falsely attributed to other public figures such as Matthew McConaughey and Mick Jagger.
