Indonesia's Finance Minister Purbaya launches Rp400 trillion liquidity injection and reviews tax cuts for workers

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced that the government will place up to Rp400 trillion in the Himpunan Bank Milik Negara (Himbara) to strengthen bank liquidity and support credit growth of 14‑15 percent this year. He said, “Jadi akan cukup likuiditas di sektor perbankan kita. Jadi harusnya bunga di pasar akan turun. Ekonomi siap lari lagi.”

Bank Syariah Indonesia welcomed the re‑allocation of the SAL (surplus allocation) to Himbara, noting it could lower funding costs and expand financing for productive sectors. The Finance Ministry also confirmed the disbursement of the remaining DBH funds to West Java starting July 2026 to bolster regional fiscal space.

Separately, Purbaya said the government will examine a proposal from the Confederation of Indonesian Workers' Unions to exempt tax on JHT (old‑age benefits) and THR (holiday allowance). He emphasized fairness, stating, “Kita juga akan bandingkan dengan best practice dunia… jangan sampai saya potong yang dapat yang untung orang kaya.”

The ministry also allocated Rp333.6 billion from Government Sharia Securities (Sukuk) to eight Bali projects, including Udayana University and road infrastructure. In addition, the Finance Minister praised Lippo Group’s land donation for the 3‑million‑house program, describing it as a concrete example of public‑private synergy.
