Depok Detention Center staff implicated in methamphetamine smuggling

Police in Depok have uncovered a drug smuggling ring operating within the Depok Detention Center (Rutan Depok). The investigation was triggered by a viral video on TikTok showing inmates engaging in a drug party.

Authorities identified that methamphetamine was being smuggled into the facility multiple times. An officer, identified by the initial S, allegedly acted as an intermediary, receiving Rp1 million per delivery. The drugs were reportedly sent via an online motorcycle taxi service by an individual identified as R, after which the officer would collect the packages and bring them inside the detention center.

Two inmates, identified as AA and SW, tested positive for narcotics and admitted to using the substances. In response to the findings, the Head of Security at Rutan Depok, Bogi Nurseto, reported two staff members—one from the security division and one from the work guidance staff—to the Depok Metro Police. The staff members face potential sanctions under civil servant regulations as the police continue their investigation.
