Deputies Lindbergh and Correia seek dismissal of Bolsonaro's criminal complaint

Federal deputies Lindbergh Farias and Rogério Correia have requested that the President of the Supreme Federal Court, Edson Fachin, dismiss a criminal complaint filed against them by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.

Bolsonaro accused the lawmakers of slanderous accusation and false communication of a crime, citing 19 requests they submitted to the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Federal Police between March and September.

The defense argues that the complaint lacks sufficient evidence to constitute a crime, noting that Bolsonaro himself expressed uncertainty regarding whether the requests actually triggered official investigations. Furthermore, the defense claims that by attaching this new complaint to an existing lawsuit involving Rogério Correia, the Senator attempted to bypass standard judicial distribution rules to influence which judge would oversee the case.
