DER/FJ mobilizes 1.557 billion FCFA for entrepreneurs in Senegal

The Délégation générale à l’Entrepreneuriat Rapide des Femmes et des Jeunes (DER/FJ) has mobilized 1.557 billion FCFA over a five-day mission across nine departments in northern and eastern Senegal. Led by Dr. Abdoulaye Niane, the tour covered 1,436 kilometers to provide financing and support to 574 groups, reaching a total of 11,840 beneficiaries.

Funding was primarily distributed through two programs: the Nano-Crédit program, which provided 1.044 billion FCFA to 450 groups (10,600 beneficiaries), and the BE YES program, which mobilized 213.2 million FCFA for 124 groups (1,240 beneficiaries). The initiative aims to promote economic empowerment for women and youth by bringing financial tools closer to local territories.

Additionally, construction has begun on a 300 million FCFA horticultural storage facility in Potou, located in the Louga department. This infrastructure is intended to help producers better preserve crops, such as onions, and reduce post-harvest losses.
