Deshundre Vinson charged with murder in toddler's death

Deshundre Vinson, a 22-year-old member of the R&B trio CitiLimitz, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated child abuse following the death of his 4-year-old nephew.

The incident occurred on August 16 at an apartment complex pool in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the child walking into deeper water and struggling underwater for approximately nine minutes. Although bystanders attempted CPR and the child was rushed to Erlanger Hospital, he died five days later.

Authorities state that Vinson left the scene with the apartment leaseholder and remained missing for two and a half weeks before being located by police and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. An affidavit indicates that messages between Vinson and the child’s mother showed an acknowledgment of the lack of supervision and his subsequent flight from the area.
