DesignBlok 2026 to feature light-themed exhibitions across Prague

The 28th edition of the DesignBlok festival will take place in Prague, with public programming running from October 7 to October 11, 2026. The theme for this year is ‘Light,’ exploring its role as a symbol of knowledge, truth, and life, as well as its impact on socio-economic challenges through design.

The event will be hosted across six locations, including the Veletržní palác, which will serve as the main hub for hundreds of exhibitions, workshops, and the DesignBlok Talks conference. Other key venues include the Riding School at Prague Castle, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Industrial Palace, and the UMPRUM technological center.

Featured participants include glass artists Velčovský, presenting the ‘Photosynthesis’ collection, and Studio Klimchi, showcasing the ‘Ghost’ glassware collection developed with New York designer Maximilian Eicke. The festival will host 368 exhibitors from 24 countries. Notable guests include Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, who will receive an award for extraordinary contributions to global design, and British artist Lee Broom.
