Czech design and architecture festivals
Overview
The Czech Republic is hosting several design and architecture festivals in October 2026. In the Liberec Region, Architecture Day (Den architektury) runs from October 1 to 7 under the theme ‘Bydlím, tedy jsem’ (I live, therefore I am), providing access to various urban sites and renovated landmarks.
In Prague, the 28th edition of DesignBlok has commenced. Centered on the theme of ‘Light’, the festival runs until October 11 and features more than 300 creators and brands across six locations, including the Veletržní palác (Trade Fair Palace) and the Prague Castle Riding School. The event includes the ‘DesignBlok Talks’ conference for professional lectures and networking, while public programming—including exhibitions, fashion shows, and children’s activities—begins on October 7.
Additionally, the Film and Architecture festival in Vysoké Mýto is participating in the national Architecture Day celebrations. Its local program features film screenings at the Šembero Theatre, including a portrait of architect Rudolph Schindler and a documentary about the transformation of a Danish concrete silo into an art center.
