Destry Damayanti inaugurated as Bank Indonesia Governor
Destry Damayanti has been officially inaugurated as the Governor of Bank Indonesia for the 2026-2031 term. The appointment follows the resignation of Perry Warjiyo in July 2026 and was formalized through Presidential Decree Number 92/P of 2026.
Alongside Damayanti, Aida S. Budiman was sworn in as Senior Deputy Governor, and Solikin M. Juhro was appointed as Deputy Governor. The new leadership team took their oaths of office before Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sunarto in Jakarta on September 2, 2026.
During her vetting process and subsequent inauguration, Damayanti emphasized that maintaining economic stability remains the central bank's top priority amid high global uncertainty. She pledged to ensure Bank Indonesia's independence while strengthening coordination with the government's fiscal policies to support sustainable economic growth and job creation.
