Detran RJ implements measures to mitigate labor strike impacts
Detran RJ is implementing measures to mitigate the impact of a labor strike on the population of Rio de Janeiro. The agency clarified that the demands presented by the employees' union regarding the Salary and Position Plan are matters outside its direct management, though it has participated in meetings to improve the proposal.
To maintain essential services, the agency is utilizing outsourced teams and extending deadlines. Civil identification services remain unaffected as they are handled by outsourced professionals. For vehicle services, users unable to complete procedures on their scheduled day may return to the same unit within five business days after activities normalize without needing a new appointment.
Regarding driver's licenses, some practical exams are being rescheduled while others are maintained; candidates should check status with their driving schools. More than 50% of electronic exams are proceeding regularly. Any exams canceled during the strike must be rescheduled by the user without additional fees.
