Deutsche Telekom secures exclusive 3. Liga broadcasting rights until 2031

Deutsche Telekom has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the German 3. Liga through 2031. Starting from the 2027/28 season, the company’s MagentaSport platform will broadcast all 380 matches per season, including relegation playoffs.

The agreement with the German Football Association (DFB) includes rights for highlights and short clips, while at least 38 matches per season will remain available for free. The DFB expects to generate approximately €124 million from the total rights allocation over the four-year period, representing a 20% increase compared to the previous cycle.

This move follows a period of growth for Telekom’s streaming services; the company reported gaining approximately one million new MagentaTV customers during the 2026 World Cup, though many opted for flexible tariffs.
