DexCare acquires Mila Health to expand AI medical services
Seattle-based medical technology company DexCare has announced the acquisition of Mila Health, an AI-driven care coordination platform. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the move aims to expand DexCare’s use of artificial intelligence in patient scheduling and medical service coordination.
Mila Health specializes in conversational AI agents that can autonomously interact with patients via phone, text, or chat to manage appointments, pre-visit preparation, and post-discharge follow-ups. These tools are designed to integrate directly with existing healthcare systems and provide more controlled, auditable AI solutions than general large language models.
DexCare, which originated from the digital innovation department of Providence, has raised approximately $146 million in total funding. Its platform currently serves roughly 57 million patients across the United States, working with major health systems such as Kaiser Permanente, Piedmont, and Texas Health Resources to optimize appointment scheduling and reduce time-to-care.
