DGArtes launches 72.8 million euro arts funding program
The Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes) is launching six calls for the Sustained Support Program starting Monday. The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport confirmed that the initiative involves a total global amount of 72,840,000 euros.
The funding is divided into biennial and quadrennial modalities and covers various artistic sectors, including Visual Arts, Interdisciplinary, Circus, Street Arts, Digital Arts, Dance, Music and Opera, Theatre, and Programming. These represent the first competitions under a revised state financial support regime for the cultural sector, following new regulations that took effect on August 13.
Specific allocations include 7.74 million euros for Visual Arts, 8.94 million euros for Interdisciplinary, Circus, Street, and Digital Arts, and 6.66 million euros for Dance. Music and Opera sectors are allocated 10.92 million euros in total.
