DGCCRF finds 39% of inspected French healthcare providers in violation

A recent inspection campaign by the French Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) revealed that 39% of 1,100 inspected healthcare providers and group practices failed to meet their patient information obligations.

Dentists were particularly affected by the findings. Out of 525 dentists inspected, 189 received injunctions to comply with regulations, and approximately 30 faced repressive measures such as administrative fines or criminal reports.

Key violations included the failure to display service prices in waiting rooms and lack of information regarding social security reimbursement levels, affecting 52% of the dentists inspected. Additionally, 26% of dentists failed to provide standardized quotes or the necessary traceability documentation for implants and crowns. The investigation also uncovered instances where dental prostheses were falsely marketed as being of 'French origin'.
